Shaboozey’s ‘Tipsy’ earns first Billboard Hot 100 top spot

It was announced on Monday that rising country and hip-hop crossover star Shaboozey had locked down the top spot on the Billboard Hot 100 with his track “A Bar Song (Tipsy)”. That success spells an even bigger moment for the artist, whose really infectious sound has captured so many hearts within the music world.

Taking to social media to share the news, Shaboozey thanked his supporters, sharing that it is truly an “indescribable” feeling.

“The actual feeling of having your “dreams come true” is indescribable, and I hope everyone gets to experience it at some point in life,” said Shaboozey on X, formerly known as Twitter.

It spent twelve weeks on the Billboard Hot 100, including nine weeks in the top 5. The song also hit No. 1 on the Billboard Hot Country Songs chart and debuted at No. 3 on Billboard’s Song of the Summer Chart earlier this year.

With over 700 million worldwide streams, “A Bar Song (Tipsy)” has hit the top 10 in countries like Canada, Sweden, and Denmark, while also making it to the UK’s Big 40 and Australia.

“Warrior” became the first single to debut in the top 10 concurrently on Country Airplay, Pop Airplay, Adult Pop Airplay, and Rhythmic Airplay charts. In an even bigger feat, Shaboozey joins Beyoncé as only the second Black artists in a row to top a Billboard Hot Country Songs chart, further underlining their impact and influence on the reshaping of the country genre.
