Luke Combs Reveals New Details About His Upcoming Nashville Honky Tonk

In a seismic move set to shake up Nashville’s vibrant music scene, two-time Country Music Association Entertainer of the Year, Luke Combs, is gearing up to redefine entertainment with his upcoming venture, “Category 10.” This groundbreaking collaboration, set to arrive in the summer of 2024, promises to be a force of nature, much like the chart-topping artist himself.

Luke Combs has been a dominant force in country music, boasting an impressive string of 13 consecutive No. 1 radio hits from 2016 to 2021. His triumph continued at the 2023 CMA Awards, where he clinched the Single of the Year title for his soul-stirring rendition of Tracy Chapman’s classic “Fast Car.”

The inspiration for “Category 10” stems from Combs’ earlier partnership announcement, made nine months ago, regarding the takeover of the iconic 69,000-square-foot Wildhorse Saloon space at Lower Broadway’s 120 2nd Avenue N. This move, inspired by Combs’ breakout single “Hurricane,” marked the end of the Wildhorse Saloon’s three-decade tenure under Ryman ownership.

Named after the meteorological term for the most powerful hurricane, Luke Combs shared his excitement about the venture on social media, stating, “The strongest a hurricane can be is a category five, so we figured we’d double it.” This symbolism represents the unparalleled strength of Combs’ voice, songwriting, and career. Colin Reed, Ryman Hospitality Properties executive chairman, echoed this sentiment in a press release, assuring that “Category 10” will offer an unparalleled experience in downtown Nashville.

The promising era that Combs envisions for “Category 10” will span an impressive 67,000 square feet, comprising three interior floors, a rooftop, and an indoor/outdoor capacity of approximately 3,000. As the Wildhorse Saloon bids farewell in January 2024, the social media channels expressed gratitude to patrons, artists, staff, and everyone who contributed to the legendary status of the venue.
