Keith Urban and Lainey Wilson set the scene with their latest single, “Go Home W U,” from Urban’s highly-anticipated upcoming album.
This upbeat song celebrates the joys of weekends and late-night outs, as the duo sings about the wild adventures that only small-town bars can offer.
“I wrote “GO HOME W U” in 2020 with BRELAND, Sam (Sumser) and Sean (Small),” said Urban. “We had a blast writing it. It started out as a late-night drum loop, I grabbed a bass guitar and started playing a simple recurring bass line. Before we knew it, we were writing a chorus that could be sung by any drunk person in any bar anywhere in the world.”

The idea to make the song a duet came from a friend, and Urban knew just the perfect partner for the collaboration. “Besides the fact that I love her voice, she’s got the swagger and attitude that fit so well with the song,” he explained.

On the track, Urban jams out lyrics like, “I got some Titanic friends / Yeah, we all get wrecked / Order anything we want from the bottom shelf / Livin’ large in a small-town bar.”
For Wilson, the opportunity to team up with Urban was a dream come true. “Keith has been someone in the industry I’ve taken notes from for a while now,” she shared. “From watching him at CMA Fest every year growing up to hearing the way he treats people up and down Music Row, he has taught me a lot. He’s a genuine supporter of mine, and I am honored I get to continue to learn from one of the best.”
This collaboration comes hot on the heels of Wilson’s recent Grammy win for Best Country Album, following the release of her hit song “Country’s Cool Again” in February. Urban, meanwhile, has been teasing fans with snippets from his first album in four years, including singles like “Straight Line” and “Messed Up As Me.”
