Hannah Ellis Releases Heartfelt New Single “’90s Country”

Hannah Ellis is back with her latest single, “’90s Country,” which drops today alongside an official music video. This mid-tempo track offers a nostalgic nod to the beloved sounds of the 1990s while exploring the pain of heartbreak.

In “’90s Country,” Ellis reflects on how memories tied to classic songs from Deana Carter, Tim McGraw, Trace Adkins, Kenny Chesney, and Brooks & Dunn can be bittersweet after a breakup. The Kentucky native captures the essence of lost love, making the song relatable to anyone who has faced similar feelings.

Ellis co-wrote the track with Jason Duke and Jason Massey, who also produced it. She shares the story behind the song: “As I was growing up, I never allowed myself to fall in love to ’90s country songs, just in case we broke up. One day, after telling my husband he could finally listen to some Kenny Chesney with me, I wrote a song about what would happen if I had.” This personal connection adds depth to the track, inviting listeners to reminisce about their own experiences.

Hanna Ellis: Once

“’90s Country” follows her previous release, “Once,” and showcases her evolution as an artist. Recently, Ellis performed at PredsFest, celebrating the start of the Nashville Predators’ NHL season. She also proudly represented her alma mater, the University of Kentucky, by singing the National Anthem at Keeneland during homecoming.

Having made her Grand Ole Opry debut in 2021, Ellis returned to the venue to perform “’90s Country” live, thrilling the audience with her emotional delivery. She has also shared the stage with stars like Thomas Rhett and Riley Green at the GoldenSky Festival 2024.

Looking ahead, fans can catch Hannah Ellis at her annual “Hannah Ellis and Friends Christmas Show” on December 13, 2024, at The Listening Room Cafe in Nashville.
