Beyoncé is making serious moves again – this time she is taking the #1 spot on the Billboard Global 200 charts with ‘Texas Hold ‘Em,’ marking the first time she has claimed the number one spot, according to Billboard.
The report states that streams of ‘Texas Hold ‘Em’ were up by more than 80%, selling 43,000 songs worldwide. Beyoncé had previously reached the Global 200 chart back in 2022 with ‘Break My Soul,’ ranking at No. 6.
‘Texas Hold ‘Em’ breaking records
This isn’t the first time that the song has broken another record. Nuevo Country previously reported last week that the song ranked No. 1 on Billboard’s Hot Country Songs chart. Meanwhile, her second entry, ’16 Carriages,’ secured the ninth position.
Have any other biracial female artists broken this record?
Before the success of ‘Texas Hold ‘Em,’ no Black woman or female identified as biracial had previously topped the Hot Country Songs chart. This achievement follows Tracy Chapman’s historic moment as the first Black woman to solely write a Country Airplay No. 1, with Luke Combs’ cover of her 1988 classic ‘Fast Car’ reaching the summit last July.
“In the realm of popular music, few artists command the level of influence and adoration that Beyoncé does. Her illustrious career has been marked by innovation, versatility, and a relentless pursuit of excellence. With a decades-long career, she has continually pushed boundaries, redefined genres, and set new standards for artistic excellence,” Forbes added in response to the record.
